How to install ScreenTranslator 2.0.0 Ubuntu 16.04 & Higher

   This software allows to translate any text on screen. Basically it is a combination of screen capture, OCR and translation tools.

Usage
  1. Press capture hotkey.
  2. Select region on screen.
  3. Get translation of recognized text.

Installation instructions:

   The GetDeb repository contains the latest packages of ScreenTranslator, available for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 17.04 and derivatives.

Opening terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and running the command:

Ubuntu 16.04 xenial


$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu xenial-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list'

$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install screentranslator

Ubuntu 16.10 yakkety

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu yakkety-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list'

$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install screentranslator

Ubuntu 17.04 zesty

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu zesty-getdeb apps" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list'

$ wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install screentranslator

(Optional) To remove ScreenTranslator, use command:

$ sudo apt-get remove screentranslator

$ sudo apt-get autoremove
