How to Upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 16.10

   Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak now is at Final freeze stage, you can now upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 16.10 Final Beta. Ubuntu 16.10, codenamed Yakkety Yak, is scheduled to be released on October 13, 2016.



 
How to Upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 16.10

   Open terminal and insert command line...
$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get upgrade

$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

  Then open Software & Updates 


   Under Updates tab, choose “For any new version” after Notify me for a new Ubuntu version

   Next, run command in terminal.

$ update-manager -d

 You should be notified that software uptodate and Ubuntu 16.10 is now available. Click the Upgrade button.


The Ubuntu 16.10 release notes window will appear. Click Upgrade.


Wait for the upgrade to finish.



The Ubuntu 16.10 want to start the upgrade  window will appear. Click Start Upgrade.



To check your Ubuntu version, run command

$ lsb_release -a
