How to install Audacious 3.7.2 Advanced Audio Player released

Audacious 3.7.2 Advanced Audio Player released is an open source audio player. A descendant of XMMS, Audacious plays your music how you want it, without stealing away your computer’s resources from other tasks. Drag and drop folders and individual song files, search for artists and albums in your entire music library, or create and edit your own custom playlists. Listen to CD’s or stream music from the Internet. Tweak the sound with the graphical equalizer or experiment with LADSPA effects. Enjoy the modern GTK-themed interface or change things up with Winamp Classic skins.

 

Audacious 3.7.2 changelog
  •     Cuesheet support issue: ‘Album Title’ missing (replaced with current directory name), as well as Year and
  •     Genre in playlist when adding songs from cue files
  •     Audacious crashes on missing .wvc files for hybrid wavpack files
  •     audacious -j does not open jump-to-file dialog
  •     scrobbler complains of network problem when checking permission
  •     GCC 6 fix for JACK plugin
  •     Network connection dropped then resumed, but Audacious does not refresh status

Installation instructions:

   Install Audacious 3.7.2 on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus, Ubuntu 16.10  Yakkety Yak, Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf, Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.x, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya and other Ubuntu derivative

Open terminal and insert command line...


$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install audacious
